Device Saves Time and Money by Determining Resistor and Capacitor Values
May 4, 2017 - Along with its full line of RC Networks, New Yorker Electronics is also distributing the Electrocube Resistor-Capacitor Substitution Box (RCSB). Determining the RC Value with an RCSB saves time and money by eliminating the need for a toolbox full of individual resistor and capacitor values.
With the aid of a storage oscilloscope, the RCSB is easily clipped directly in circuit. The operator then selects and matches various combinations of resistors and capacitors to optimize spike reduction and/or reduce EMI levels. Once the combination is determined, a quick reference of the Electrocube RC Networks data sheets provides the proper Electrocube RC Networks Arc-Suppressing Resistor-Capacitor (RC) Circuit based on RC value results.
Electrocube has determined that for an estimated 90-percent of all applications, the best overall combination is .47-.50 MFD @ 220Ω. The voltage should be selected for the normal DC or AC voltages. However, the designer must take into consideration the peak voltages involved.
Electrocube maintains an extensive line of more than 400 precision UL-recognized and ULC-approved RC Networks and specializes in custom designs. New Yorker Electronics supplies the RCBS as well as the entire line of Electrocube's RC Network Resistor-Capacitor Circuits.
New Yorker Electronics supplies the full line of Electrocube products including its full inventory of film capacitors, resistor capacitor (RC) Networks, EMI Filters and high frequency transformers. New Yorker Electronics also makes available Electrocube’s in-house brands such as Seacor supplier (electrolytic capacitor banks and precision capacitors), F-Dyne distributor (film capacitors), with Southern Electronics sales (film capacitors) and pfc Precision Film Capacitors and Standards.
