Cornell Dubilier Electronics’ Double-Layer Super-capacitors and Illinois’ Capacitors Lithium Ion Batteries Provide Reliable, Rechargeable Power
June 22, 2020 - New Yorker Electronics has announced the distribution of two types of rechargeable coin cell devices to cover the power needs of a wide range of devices and applications. The Cornell Dubilier Double-Layer Supercapacitor generates higher power than batteries and delivery more energy than typical aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors provide memory backup in circuits up to 6.3WVDC. The Illinois Capacitors Lithium Ion Coin Cell Batteries offer the highest mAh capacity available and with new encapsulation technology, significantly increase storage capacity. |

The EDC and EDS Series of Coin Cell style EDLC capacitors from Cornell Dubilier (CDE) have quick response and recharge times. They offer higher power than batteries and greater energy than typical aluminum electrolytic capacitors without degradation over millions of charge-discharge cycles. These new supercapacitors can replace or extend battery life in on-board memory backup. They are electric double-layer supercapacitors that provide high capacitance values in a thru-hole stacked coin type package. Three case configurations are available for horizontal, vertical and radial-lead PCB mounting. EDC and EDS series capacitors are ready to board mount in such applications as real-time clock (RTC) backup, power failure backup, battery assist and in market segments such as smart metering, HVAC controls, building automation, communication systems, appliances, instruments and other microprocessor-based devices. Because of their high volumetric power density, they can be an effective way to reduce board size and weight. Either series can be used as a drop-in replacement for similar value capacitors recently discontinued by other manufacturers. Not only has the energy density per cell been improved in
the Illinois Capacitor Lithium Ion batteries, the failure rate is superior to
older designs. Encapsulation, unlike conventional stacking construction, has
resolved older manufacturing issues which can affect safety and reliability. As
a result, RJD Series batteries allow manufacturers to offer new levels of
performance without product redesign. With the increased performance levels, product run time can
be increased by 20% or more vs. a conventional lithium rechargeable coin cell
battery. Alternatively, if product size is most critical, performance levels
can be maintained with a physically smaller cell. New Yorker Electronics supplies Cornell Dubilier Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors, AC
Oil Filled Capacitors, DC Oil Filled Capacitors, Film Capacitors, MICA
Capacitors, Ultracapacitors, Surface Mount Capacitors, Aluminum Polymer
Capacitors, Supercapacitors, as swell as Capacitor Hardware and Capacitor Kits.
New Yorker Electronics supplies Illinois Capacitor miniature capacitors for electronics,
lighting, energy and other markets including aluminum electrolytic, metalized
film, power film, supercapacitors (ultra capacitors), supercapacitor modules
and other types. Coin Cell
